Financial Aid counselor/Federal Work study coordinator

Monitor and oversee work study program. Complete verification for continuing students who are selected for verification after submitting their FAFSAs'. Review all students who have received any Federal Aid within the academic year to make sure that they are meeting the required GPA and completion pace in order to receive federal aid.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Federal Work study program (CFWS) Monitor and oversee work study program. Process the work study payroll. Monitor student and department work study budgets. Supervise work study students. Review submitted work study time sheets for student workers.
• Verification/packaging Complete verification for continuing students who are selected for verification after submitting their FAFSAs'. Submit corrections on CPS and package students after verification process.
• Counseling students and parents Meet with students and parents in regard to their financial hardships. Advise students and/ or parents with their financial aid questions. Answering the phones and covering the counter.
• Satisfactory progress for federal aid and Institutional Aid Review all students who have received any Federal Aid within the academic year to make sure that they are meeting the required GPA and completion pace in order to receive federal aid.
• Liaison between Advancement for packaging students who have been awarded Continuing student scholarships.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree
• 3 to 5 years of work related experience
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Databases
• PowerFaids

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT

• Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
