Assistant/Associate Director of Financial Aid

Salary: $60,500.00 - $66,000.00 Annually

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Assistant or Associate Director is responsible for the counseling of prospective,
enrolled students and alumni on all aspects of financial aid eligibility and student loan debt management. This position is responsible for awarding and certifying students’ eligibility in all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs offered by the college.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Packaging student aid awards.
2. Certifying student eligibility for all financial aid programs administered by the college.
3. Perform group and individual financial budgeting and debt counseling assistance.
4. Responsible for carrying out all regulatory requirements to determine a student’s aid eligibility.
5. Appropriately exercises Professional Judgement authority under the Title IV statute and regulations
6. Maintain the accuracy of all financial aid office records and electronic databases.
7. Responsible for proper maintenance, operation, and written procedures for the college’s financial aid
electronic database systems.
8. Assist the Director in the scheduling and implementation of the office production cycle.
9. Participate in student orientation, campus open houses and other college events as directed.
10. Participate in technical and professional training events as directed by the Director.
11. Keep the Director informed of any internal or external issues that may impact students’ aid eligibility, or the operations of the financial aid office and/or College.
12. Complete other assignments as directed by the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, and/or extensive work experience in administering student aid programs. Preference will be given to extensive work experience, and the candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administering student aid programs. Specifically, expert knowledge in administering undergraduate Title IV Federal Student Aid programs. Must possess strong communication and analytical skills to make professional judgment decisions. Ability to work independently, as well as in team settings.
